Who motivates you and who do you respect the most?
My bro nick is probably top of the list, he surfs really good and he’s always pushing me. All my Bodyboarding buddies do really, the best thing about this sport is the people involved. I just want to be a part of it, and keep having fun with my mates, that’s what motivates me.
Living on the goldy, you must have had some memorable funnels lately?
Well they’ve been very few and far between on the goldy this year, but I got a good session at the reef a few weeks back with some very nice tunnels. Sorry, funnels.
What’s the most embarrassing moment in your life so far?
When I first moved to the Goldy I was about 15 and started at a new school. I had a shocker of a first week there. In one of my first classes I fell backwards off a massive art stool in front of all my new class mates and they laughed really loud. But that was nothing compared to the very public dacking I got a couple of days later!! My new so called “friend” waited for the perfect moment when the tuckshop line was chockers and there were people everywhere. He then very swiftly brang my shorts to the ground and stood on them… I couldn’t get the things back up and I’m rolling around desperately trying to pull them back up!! Cock and balls everywhere! There would’ve been 300 people laughing there heads off and pointing at me! Most embarrassing moment of my life for sure.
If you’re not bodyboarding what could we find you doing?
Fishing, I love it. I caught my first golden trevally yesterday! yeeehaaw.
What international place have you traveled that you could find yourself living there?
I don’t think I could live anywhere but Australia. I’ve done some solid stints in other places, but we have it all here, nothing comes close.
Favorite Airport?
Strange question? Umm, probably Hong Kong airport because it’s massive and has heaps of cool stuff in it, I had a 5hr layover there and I didn’t get bored. I took full advantage of the free internet stations and I spent hours just walking around exploring the thing!
Who are the main people or friends in your life and what have they done for you lately?
Well first up there’s me chicky Elise, she’s a hot mumma and she’s super cool (most of the time!haha). There’s my family, mum, dad and the bro’s. They’re always there for me. Then there’s my good mates from home. Deethy, I’ve known him longer than I’ve known my own brothers, he’s always keen for a surf or a fish when he’s not working. Lackeye, he’s a scumbag but he’s a legend, he just got kicked out of our place cos he’s too messy! Sanga, always laughing at something, he’s a weirdo, cool guy though. Byron, legend. Zac, has one big nut. Newmano, could write a best seller with all the funny stories he has. Liam, knows how to work the NF lens, and really fun to get drunk with. Basically all the “d’bah” Bodyboarding crew are all legends! I love hanging with them all.

If you could look inside a crystal ball, what do you see as a possible trend in the next 2 years?
Everyone will start wearing they’re undies on the outside… Just wait and see.
What’s been the most memorable trip ,concert or party moment for you recently?
The trip to Micronesia late last year was really memorable. We didn’t score epic waves day after day, but it was just paradise. I wanna go back and get it bigger and better!
What goals are you working toward in the coming year?
Well my big goal for the year was to make the island comp, but I got no dealed one heat shy of the cut off in the quarters! I was pretty devastated to come so close and miss out. There’s a few trips I’ve planned for (bank balance permiting), and I’m going to focus on getting good waves and shooting as much as possible. I want to do well in the Pipe comp this year. And I can’t wait to see my boards on the shelves! I’d really like to see them do well.
Do you have a secret talent we should know about?
I’m a bit of a closet whistler, I think I’d be lying if I said it wasn’t one of my talents.
